Last April a good friend gave birth and was able to take a few photos as soon as the baby woke up. The baby is a mix of the mom and dad.
Welcome!
Welcome
In 2009, I decided to try our a 365 days in photography project. I have been curious in the past in doing it but this year, I will be joining the bandwagon. My photoproject is not limited to new photos taken everyday. It will include old photos processed differently.
Cheers!

Samuel
Took a photo of Samuel sometime March this year and thought I'd give it a timeless look with making it a monochrome and a touch of sepia. Took a different route in cropping it into a square photo.
I hope you like it. More photos of Samuel in Flickr.

Old Man Walking
I was in Palm Beach last 12th April for some youth activity and chanced upon this man walking along the shores of the beach. It just struck me that as we grow older in life, we leave a trace of 'footprints' to the life of people we meet. Some of those memories we remember, while some we forget (symbolized by the waves that 'erased' some of the footprints).
In the end, I guess even as we journey through life, we just try to leave a good experience with people.

A Try on Sports Shooting
Last Saturday, I got a chance to shoot a game of the Sydney Swans. Aside from the fun of the games, I got a chance to shoot the game using the Nikon D300 and my 18-200VR lens. Eventhough it was not a fast lens, it held its ground to capture some of the exciting moments of the game. The high fps of the D300 and cleaner ISO helped me to bump the ISO to 1000.
Cheers!

New Nikon Workhorse
One of my favorite lens prior to owning a Nikon is the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L. This gave me beautiful images and helped me appreciate having a fast lens in a demanding world of weddings and events.
Today, this will be my new workhorse lens - a Nikkor 17-55mm f/2.8 DX lens. I would have opted for the new Nikkor 24-70mm but realized I'd love to have more on the wide side even though it is a DX lens.
Other lenses are the Nikkor 18-200VR for all around/travel/back-up needs and a UWA lens, the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 for creative and landscapes.
Marianna with a Dolphin
One of Marianna's favorite stuff toy. The past week she expressed how much she missed her dolphin friend and hugged it all the time. Before packing my things before a shoot, Marianna obliged when I requested for some sample shots. This is one of my favorite.
This was taken using Nikon's CLS.

Even Big Guys Need to Lean Sometimes
In my last visit at Taronga Zoo, I happen to see one of the elephants leaning on the tree. I guess she is either tired or there is something itchy that needs to be scratched.

Flag of our Country
January 26, 2008 - Australia Day. One of the photos that make Aussies proud... a flag-inspired bikini.
Cheers!
